Lubec, Maine is the easternmost town in the United States. It is in what is known as "Downeast Maine." It is knownfor its beautifully rugged coastline and breathtaking scenery. It is also a huge tourist attraction in the summer. Lubec is a very small quaint town with the population topping out around 2,000. Lubec residents' jobs are mostly in the fishing industry with job titles such as lobster fisherman, scallop dragger and clam digger. Other jobs include store clerks, cashiers, waiters and waitresses.

Maine's climate is ever changing: Warm in the summer with an average temperature of around 80 degrees farenheight; Chilly in the fall and spring with temperatures around 55 degrees farenheight; and cold in the winter with an average temperature of around 20 degrees farenheight. The saying here is, "If you don't like the weather in Maine, then wait a minute!"
One of Maine's biggest tourist attractions is Quoddy Head state park which contains West Quoddy Head Light (shown in the picture above). The lighthouse is on the easternmost plot of land in Lubec, and therefore in the United States. East Quoddy Head
Lighthouse is located a few miles east of Lubec on Campobello Island, New Brunswick, which is just across the bridge in downtown Lubec.
